The Carrie Furnace Framed by the Pinkerton Landing Railroad Bridge during a foggy sunrise. Right near this site the Pinkerton's landed in barges during the beginning of the bloody Homestead Steel Strike of 1892. The Carrie Furnaces were built in 1884 and they operated until 1982. In 2006 it was declared a National Historic Landmark, as it one of the last pre World War II Blast Furnaces left in the United States.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Christmas Decorations - Polish Hill (1)
This is a photo of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Pittsburgh's Polish Hill neighborhood. The building was completed in 1897, was awarded a Pittsburgh Historic Landmark designation. The church was modeled after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
